Most drivers are generally pretty diligent about changing the oil and oil filter in their vehicle, yet they often neglect the cabin and engine filter. It’s not an intentional neglect but more that they don’t realize the importance of these two filters.

Engine air filters play an important role because they protect your engine for getting dirty and dusty, which can affect not just the engine’s performance but also the vehicles emission and fuel efficiency. Genesis of Annapolis recommends the engine air filter be replaced about every 15,000 to 30,000 miles depending on the road conditions and climate.

The cabin filter is equally important because it keeps the air that comes through your vents as clean as possible. If the air filter is dirty, the cabin can be filled with dust and similar pollutants that can affect breathing. This filter should be changed at least once a year according to most dealerships.
